Peavy "Hates NY"

In Ken Davidoff's latest column in Newsday, he says that Jake Peavy does prefer the National League and he would approve a trade to the Houston Astros because he has a good relationship with the pitcher, Roy Oswalt. The problem with that according to Davidoff is the Astros are lacking in prospects to trade with the Padres.

The Mets on the other hand aren't a safe bet because they probably lack the young talent necessary, and one baseball official from another team said this past week that Peavy, who was born and still lives in Alabama, "Hates" New York anyway.

Haven't we hear this before with other athletes who hate New York and come here anyway. Let's face it, if the Yankees or Mets come up with a nice package for Peavy I am sure that one of these teams will make it very appealing (monetarily to waive his no-trade clause) for Peavy to come here. Money talks, BS walks....
